Job summary

Trigyn's direct government client seeks a Data Quality & Governance Engineer in New York, NY. The role involves turning complex data requirements into technical specs for pipelines, building warehousing workflows, and validating data using advanced analytics.

You will drive data governance and lineage initiatives across platforms. The candidate should have extensive experience in SQL/Oracle, data visualization with Tableau/Power BI, and automation with Python/R/SAS.

Job description

Trigyn's direct government client has an immediate need for Data Quality & Governance Engineer in New York, NY.

Description:

• Translate complex business requirements from data stakeholders into technical specifications for data pipelines and automated workflows.
• Build and maintain data warehousing workflows and data pipelines using SQL and cloud database tools.
• Compile, compute, analyze and validate data using advanced statistical formulas and model calculations.
• Elaborate high-level policies and business needs into technical requirements (user stories/system use cases) to guide platform implementation.
• Execute data profiling, build exception reports, and manage metadata/lineage using data platforms.
• Use programming language (Python/VBA/R) to automate data ingestion and reporting processes.

Mandatory Qualification:

• Works in the field of Information Technology, experienced in the usage and support of a collection of development platforms, technical architectures or business applications and products that run on those platforms - beyond that of a Programmer.
• Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
• 84 Months experience in Data warehousing, profiling, governance, modeling or data quality assurance for Financial Reporting.
• 84 Months of Experience in SQL, Oracle and other Database Management Systems, including querying. Provide example(s) of independently problem solving and support to internal data stakeholders that resolved data issues in real time.
• 84 Months of Experience with data visualization, dashboarding, using tools like Tableau, Business Objects, Power BI.
• 84 Months of Experience in automating data tasks like ingestion, mapping, reporting, testing, validation, analysis, using programming languages such as SAS, Python, R, or Excel VBA.
• 84 Months of Experience in providing governance, and technical support. Liaise with data vendors/solution providers, internal stakeholders, other technology teams (Data Architecture, Project Management team) to support data strategy and initiatives. Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• 84 Months of Experience with Data Cataloging Platforms (e.g., Informatica, Collibra, Alation) to execute data profiling, data quality, data mapping and manage lineage.
• 84 Months of experience in writing documentation to capture requirements and logic, and encourage adoption of data catalog, data quality and data management processes and other data related initiatives (i.e., data platform/integration solutions).
• 36 Months of Experience in cloud-based data platforms, like Snowflake or Azure
• Bachelor's Degree.
