Responsibilities

• Team Intro
  The US Security and Privacy Operations - Data Protection Incident Responder will report to the USDS Resiliency Operations Center Lead. This position is responsible for managing incidents escalated from business units, investigating, coordinating cross-functional triage and mitigation activities, remediation, tracking, reporting, communication, and escalation to the Enterprise Incident Response Lead if the incident reaches a crisis threshold.
• Support incident response processes to aid in remediation activities, communications, and crisis management.
• Communicate incident response concepts and protocols clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Support tracking, maintenance, advancement, and execution of USDS Incident Response projects.
• Participate actively in incident response activities and escalate to crisis as needed.
• Be familiar with incident response plans and procedures, including identification, remediation, containment, and eradication.
• Understand Crisis Management Plans and procedures, thresholds, and activation procedures.
• Synthesize technical details of critical incidents for executive management and provide immediate containment and eradication recommendations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Cybersecurity, emergency management, or crisis management, with a focus on security analytics and incident response, plus 3+ years in incident management operations or related fields.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence without authority.
• Proven teamwork, collaboration, time management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, especially in leading or contributing to global, multi-functional teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and within constraints, with strong analytical and cross-disciplinary expertise.
• Experience in emergency operations, planning, and exercises, including program design and implementation.
• Strong project management skills and thought leadership.
• Experience managing high-profile, complex incident situations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in social media, entertainment, startup, or tech industries.
