Job summary

IBM Consulting is seeking a Data Products Designer to shape business-aligned data products as part of a large re-engineering program. You will define data product structures, models, contracts and metadata used by analytics, ML, and GenAI.

You will work with stakeholders to define scope, SLAs, and data contracts, design models for Databricks and AWS, and ensure SAP and non-SAP data are modeled consistently. This role can be performed from anywhere in the US.

Qualifications

• Advanced data modelling, data design, or data architecture experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of data mesh concepts and governance.
• Experience with source-to-target mappings and modern data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Define data products: scope, ownership, consumers, SLAs, and data contracts.
• Design logical and physical data models for Databricks and AWS.
• Re-engineer legacy data structures into reusable data products.
• Define source-to-target mappings for pipelines (Fivetran, SAP, non-SAP).
• Align SAP-native data products with non-SAP data models.
• Maintain design artifacts in enterprise modeling tools.
• Define data quality rules and lineage with engineers and governance teams.
• Produce design documentation and review designs with engineers, Architects and Product Owners.
• Design and develop data solutions on Big Data and lakehouse tech with API access.
• Provide technical leadership on data product design standards and approaches.
• Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of data products.
• Collaborate with delivery teams to meet business requirements.
