Job summary

IBM Consulting is looking for a Data Products Designer to shape business-aligned data products within a large re-engineering program. You will define data product structure, models, contracts, and metadata used by analytics, ML, and GenAI.

You will design and develop data solutions on Big Data and lakehouse platforms, including API-based access, and lead design reviews with Data Engineers and Architects.

Qualifications

• Advanced expertise in data modelling, data design, or data architecture.
• Ability to design scalable data models for complex enterprise environments.
• Strong SQL skills with Databricks and AWS data services.

Responsibilities

• Define data products: scope, ownership, consumers, SLAs, and data contracts.
• Design logical and physical data models for data products on Databricks and AWS.
• Re-engineer legacy data structures into reusable data products.
• Define source-to-target mappings for pipelines (Fivetran, SAP sources).
• Ensure SAP-native data products are modeled consistently across systems.
• Maintain design artefacts in enterprise data modelling tools.
• Define data quality rules and lineage expectations with data teams.
• Produce design docs and review designs with engineers and product owners.
• Design and develop data solutions on Big Data and lakehouse tech with API access.
• Provide technical leadership on design standards and approaches.
• Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of data products.
