Job summary

Stride, Inc. is seeking a Business Data Specialist to develop, maintain, and support domain-specific data products that power operational reporting and analytics.

You will work with Data Engineering, Data Governance, Analytics, and business teams to ensure data is accurate, traceable, and well-documented throughout its lifecycle. Qualifications

• Five to seven years of relevant professional experience with data analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience communicating with stakeholders including teachers and school leaders.
• Self-motivated to solve emergent issues with the best available tools and as part of a team.
• MS365 proficient.
• Experience developing reports and/or dashboards with tools like Power BI, Excel, MS Access.
• Knowledge of programming standards and SQL.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to travel 10% of the time.
• Ability to clear required background check.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance domain-specific data products and data models using dbt and Snowflake to support reporting and analytics.
• Partner with the Data Domains team to identify enterprise data requirements for key products.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions while balancing short-term needs and long-term maintainability.
• Design and implement solutions for complex ad hoc data requests and create reusable data assets.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, root cause analysis, and quality assurance for production data.
• Investigate data quality and production issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams to fix root causes.
• Design and maintain configuration-driven solutions that reflect business rules and data lineage for audit requirements.
• Become the technical SME for assigned domains and document data definitions and configurations.
