Job Description

As a Data Analytics & Technology (DAT) Risk and Control Manager, you will guide and support Product Managers, Designers, and Technologies in decision-making related to operational risks associated with our programs. You will focus on enabling teams to deliver better customer outcomes by maintaining a strong controls environment. Your responsibilities include effective risk & controls management, identifying control weaknesses, recommending improvements, articulating business impact and risks, and educating the business on proactive risk mitigation measures. You will contribute to responsible growth and a customer-centric experience.

Job Responsibilities
  • Build a culture of partnership, collaboration, and transparency with product teams and other functions, serving as a subject matter expert and point of escalation for control obligations.
  • Lead risk and controls management for data products, including AI/ML initiatives, focusing on data integrity, privacy, and security.
  • Identify and assess data-related risks such as data quality, governance, and protection; develop mitigation strategies.
  • Support the business by identifying control weaknesses and providing recommendations to improve data handling and processing.
  • Communicate business impact and risks to stakeholders, emphasizing data compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Educate the business on proactive risk measures, emphasizing data ethics and responsible AI usage.
  • Navigate change and contribute to responsible growth and customer-centric data-driven decisions aligned with risk management principles.
  • Partner with teams across the Product & Experience organization to design controls that mitigate data risks.
  • Balance controls with efficiency through smart processes and automation, leveraging data analytics.
  • Monitor and report on data risk metrics and control effectiveness, ensuring timely issue resolution.
  • Participate in the Control Management function, overseeing risk and control management in the first line of defense.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
  • Proven experience in risk and control management, especially related to data products and AI/ML.
  • 5+ years supporting data product development, with deep understanding of data quality, governance, privacy, and security risks.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices in data management and AI.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail; ability to synthesize large data sets and develop innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate complex risk concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage shifting priorities, and operate in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
