As a Data Processing Specialist, you will be responsible for transforming raw data from multiple sources into clean, organized, and usable formats. You will support operational, financial, inventory, and logistical decision-making by ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent data ingestion, processing, quality control, and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Gather data from diverse sources (field reports, invoices, equipment logs, digital forms, third-party systems)
- Clean, validate, and standardize data to ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness
- Process data for internal systems: uploading, mapping, importing/exporting between systems
- Reconcile discrepancies or anomalies; investigate and resolve issues or escalate when necessary
- Create and maintain databases, spreadsheets, and dashboards to track key metrics (e.g. inventory levels, rental usage, financials)
- Generate regular and ad-hoc reports for internal stakeholders (operations, accounting, logistics, management)
- Assist with automation initiatives (macros, scripts, workflow tools) to improve efficiency of data processing
- Ensure data security, confidentiality, and compliance with company policy and any relevant regulations
- Adhere to defined turnaround times, quality standards, and performance metrics
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or associate degree in Information Technology, Business, Data Science, or related field; or equivalent work experience
- Prior experience in data processing, data analysis, or data management roles
- Strong proficiency in spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets) and data tools (e.g., queries, pivot tables, data cleaning)
- Experience with database systems or ERP systems is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail; strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote/distributed team
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Reliable internet connection and appropriate remote work setup
Preferred / Nice to Have:
- Experience in the oilfield, equipment rental, or energy sector
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
- Knowledge of automation tools (scripting, macros, RPA platforms)
- Experience with inventory management or financial data workflows
- Comfort handling sensitive or proprietary data
