Position Summary

The Data Processing Clerk I will support the Division of Field Studies and Engineering (DFSE) within NIOSH by performing data entry and basic industry and occupation coding functions. This position is responsible for accurately reviewing and processing narrative occupational data in accordance with government‑provided guidelines and classification systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and enter occupational and industry data into designated systems.
  • Apply standardized coding instructions under supervision.
  • Follow established procedures and government‑provided guidelines.
  • Perform basic quality checks for completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain data confidentiality and comply with federal data security requirements.
  • Meet productivity and turnaround benchmarks.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year experience in data entry or clerical support.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow structured procedures and written guidance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
