Job summary

State of Michigan is seeking a Data Privacy Specialist within the Michigan State Police to coordinate and ensure compliance with security, data, and privacy standards, laws, and frameworks. The role supports, advises, and leads privacy initiatives across the division, and acts as the LEIN TAC to ensure proper information exchange.

The position requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, plus several years of professional work in state service, and involves a mandatory pre-employment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any major, or at least one year of professional experience in the Michigan classified service.
• Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
• Pre-employment screening including drug screen, criminal history background check, and fingerprint check by the Michigan State Police.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the division's specialist for data privacy to support compliance with security, data and privacy standards, laws, best practices and frameworks.
• Act as LEIN TAC (Terminal Agency Coordinator) for the division.
• Assist leadership and participate in the Michigan Security Accreditation Process (MiSAP) for applications to gain an authority to operate (ATO).
