Job Summary:
Dexian is seeking a Data Privacy/Protection Analyst (Cyber) for an opportunity with a client located in Chicago, IL.
Responsibilities:
- Staying informed about and ensuring adherence to federal, state, and international privacy laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA)
- Conducting privacy risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, and developing mitigation strategies to protect sensitive data
- Creating, reviewing, and updating privacy policies and procedures to align with legal requirements and enhance data security
- Investigating and responding to privacy complaints, data breaches, and security incidents, including managing notification processes
- Collaborating with IT to integrate security measures and privacy controls into technology platforms and business processes
- Developing and delivering privacy training programs to employees to ensure they understand data handling policies and best practices
- Managing customer requests regarding access, amendment, and restriction of their personal information
- Working with third-party vendors to ensure their data practices meet the organization's privacy standards
- Maintaining records of privacy processes, decisions, and audit trails for accountability
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, law, business, or a related field is often required
- Proficiency in data analysis, understanding of cybersecurity principles, and familiarity with data protection tools and technologies
- A strong understanding of global privacy laws and data protection frameworks
- Ability to critically analyze data, identify trends, and translate complex privacy concepts into practical business solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences
- Professional certifications such as CIPP (Certified Information Privacy Professional) or CIPT (Certified Information Privacy Technologist) can be advantageous
- Can be fully remote in U.S.
- 6+ Month Contract, expected to extend
- Data Privacy / Protection experience within Cybersecurity / IAM is required
- Working with third party platforms and teams required
