Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking a junior-to-mid-level associate to join its nationally recognized Data Strategy, Security & Privacy practice group in its San Francisco office. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of privacy law, cybersecurity, and complex commercial litigation, supporting a dynamic and collaborative team.

About the Practice

The Data Strategy, Security & Privacy team represents clients in a wide range of matters, including consumer class actions, mass arbitrations, and government enforcement actions involving privacy, data security, and technology-related issues. Associates gain hands‑on experience across all stages of litigation while developing subject matter knowledge in privacy, cybersecurity, and consumer protection laws.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of litigation experience and a strong foundation in civil procedure. This role requires the ability to manage both complex, large‑scale matters and fast‑paced assignments, along with excellent legal research and writing skills.

Candidates should have experience with, or exposure to:

• Drafting and contributing to dispositive and procedural motions (e.g., motions to compel arbitration, transfer venue, dismiss for lack of standing, personal jurisdiction, or failure to state a claim, and discovery‑related motions)
• Working knowledge of federal and state court procedures, including local rules, and arbitration forums such as JAMS and AAA
• Managing written discovery and interacting with client witnesses in connection with discovery obligations
• Assisting in mediation preparation
• Experience in privacy, cybersecurity, intellectual property, or a technical background is a plus but not required. Strong academic credentials are expected.

Compensation

This position offers a competitive salary range of approximately $235,000 – $310,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications, in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws.
