Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Seattle, WA, is seeking a junior to mid-level Associate to join its Data Privacy & Cybersecurity practice group. This role offers the opportunity to support leading technology-driven businesses in managing critical cybersecurity incidents, navigating global privacy regulations, and advising on cutting-edge legal issues related to digital risk. The successful candidate will be part of a forward-thinking team working on regulatory compliance, incident response, and privacy issues in complex transactions.

Duties:

Assist clients in managing high-stakes cybersecurity incidents and internal investigations

Provide day-to-day legal advice on privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity regulatory compliance

Support corporate transactions with privacy and cybersecurity due diligence and negotiation

Advise cybersecurity companies on legal concerns related to threat intelligence and security research

Engage with clients in technology, media, finance, and other regulated sectors on evolving legal standards

Collaborate with colleagues across multiple offices to provide comprehensive client support

Contribute to the strategic growth of the firm’s cybersecurity legal practice

Requirements:

2 to 4 years of post-JD experience with a focus on privacy, data protection, and/or cybersecurity law

Prior involvement in data breach response or related investigations strongly preferred

Experience with federal/state regulatory frameworks (e.g., FTC, GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, NYDFS)

Familiarity with cybersecurity issues in M&A, technology transactions, or incident response counseling

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Excellent academic credentials required

Certifications:

Active membership in the bar of any U.S. jurisdiction; ability to gain admission in Washington if not already admitted
