Job summary

CG Automation & Fixture (CGAF), located in Comstock Park, MI, seeks an experienced Data Prep team member to bridge Design and Shop Floor manufacturing.

This role requires attention to detail, CAD aptitude, and collaboration; responsibilities include preparing design data for machinists, ensuring latest data availability, delivering correct file formats, and coordinating with the machine department on best practices; Epicor experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have strong CAD experience and data-prep skills to support machinists.
• Experience preparing design data for manufacturing workflows.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (Epicor) to manage data and processes.
• Strong communication to coordinate with design and shop-floor teams.

Responsibilities

• Able to work with minimal supervision in an efficient, effective manner.
• Prepare the files of data that are received from the design department for use by the machinists.
• Assure that the floor has the latest data that is in the design.
• Assure that the machinists receive the data in the correct type of file format.
• Confer with machine department to determine the best machining practices for the components that need to be machined.
• Use Epicor (ERP system)
• Able to multi-task and possess organizational skills

This role requires attention to detail, aptitude for CAD, and ability to collaborate well with others.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities:

• Able to work with minimal supervision in an efficient, effective manner.

Qualifications:

• Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
• Must possess sound problem-solving skills.
• Must possess quality communication skills.
• 5+ years Design and CAD experience, strongly preferred.
