Job summary

LILT is hiring for a Head of Data Platform Engineering to own the data transformation layer (dbt) and the warehouse. You will lead a new Data sub-team, run the pipelines, and ensure consistent metrics across Finance, Operations, Production, and Product.

You will hire a Data Engineer and a Senior Data Scientist, set the charter, and maintain hands-on coding in SQL, dbt, and Python. This role reports to Platform leadership and emphasizes cost efficiency and governance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data/analytics engineering.
• 2+ years in people management (team size 2–5).
• Fluent in SQL and Python; built and run production pipelines.
• Experience with a dbt (or equivalent) transformation layer.
• Comfort with BigQuery, ClickHouse, Snowflake, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Own the data layer: implement metric definitions once in dbt and ensure consistency.
• Run transformation layer and warehouse with accountable owners, tests, and cost tracking.
• Set direction for warehouse strategy and API exposure backed by written cases.
• Build the team: hire a Data Engineer and a Senior Data Scientist and guide delivery.
• Define AI-enabled data practices and keep hands-on with SQL, dbt, and Python.
