Job summary

Outpost is hiring a Data Platform Engineer to build and operate the pipelines that turn raw data into analysis-ready datasets, and to own the datasets those pipelines produce. You will sit between the wet lab CROs and the computational biology and ML teams, ensuring training and inference runs are traceable and explainable.

This full-time role is based in Boston (or London) with emphasis on Python data infrastructure, cloud orchestration (Dagster/Airflow/Prefect) and AWS, delivering reliable,

Qualifications

• 3–5 years building and operating production data infrastructure in Python
• Experience owning pipelines that others depend on and handling failures
• Comfort with workflow orchestrators (Dagster/Airflow/Prefect) and AWS compute services

Responsibilities

• Build and operate pipelines turning raw data into analysis-ready datasets
• Own datasets, including schema, validation, provenance, versioning, and transformation layers
• Collaborate with wet lab CROs and computational biology/ML teams to ensure data is usable and explainable
• Maintain good engineering practices: code reviews, tests, CI, observable failures
• Ensure training and inference runs are traceable via versioned inputs and configurations
