Job summary

Confluence is seeking a Software Engineer with a strong data-engineering focus to join the Data Team. You will work on a Python data API, migrate logic from legacy procedures to Python, and integrate diverse data sources behind a unified interface.

This role emphasizes data correctness, performance, and cross-team collaboration. You will contribute to building a scalable, multi-tenant data platform with SQL Server and modern data sources like Snowflake, while deploying via Azure/DevOps

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering/Computer Science or related field.
3 years of experience in software development.
Strong proficiency in Python backend development (3.12+), FastAPI, Pydantic v2, async/await, and T-SQL.
Expert-level SQL Server data engineering: parameterized queries, optimization, indexing, ETL, and large-dataset performance tuning.
Experience with modern cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake) and integrating heterogeneous data sources.

Responsibilities

Help define the architecture and direction of the next-generation data platform.
Work across the data platform focusing on data correctness, performance, and large-scale data movement.
Migrate business and data logic from legacy stored procedures into testable Python and pandas transformations.
