Job summary

The Los Angeles Lakers are seeking a Data Engineer, Basketball Data Strategy to join the Basketball Data Systems team. You will build, maintain, and operate data pipelines across ingestion, transformation, storage, and serving layers in a modern cloud data platform, delivering bronze, silver, and gold datasets for web and mobile products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• 2–4 years of data engineering experience.
• Experience with cloud data platforms and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines across bronze, silver, and gold datasets.
• Deliver serving layer data into PostgreSQL and views for apps.
• Run backfills and reprocessing across seasons.
• Support near-real-time data flows and event-driven design.
• Maintain lakehouse performance, partitioning, and storage formats.
• Ensure data quality with validation and monitoring.
• Contribute to data catalog and lineage documentation.
