Job summary

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies seeks a Data and Platform Engineer to build, deploy, and own the applications and data flows that power our engineering organization. You will integrate our toolchain, automate processes, and own data pipelines, balancing coding with stakeholder collaboration.

You will own production-grade software, gather user needs, and prioritize work with leadership across Rivian and VWG within a global JV. This hands-on role requires autonomy and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 3+ years of professional software development experience, including production-ready apps.
• Strong Python skills for services, automations, and data processing.
• AWS experience deploying and operating applications (compute, storage, IAM, networking).
• Databricks experience building and maintaining data pipelines and datasets (Spark/PySpark, SQL, Delta).
• GitLab experience for source control and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain applications and services that support engineering process execution.
• Build integrations and automations across the engineering toolchain to keep data consistent between systems.
• Model, pipeline, and maintain data behind process and quality reporting using Databricks.
• Act as product manager for applications and automations, gathering requirements and prioritizing work.
• Collaborate with engineers, process owners, and leadership across the joint venture.
• Manage AWS, Databricks resources and GitLab CI/CD pipelines for reliability and security.
