Job summary

Paychex is reimagining how businesses manage their workforce by bringing payroll, HR, benefits, and advisory services together into a single connected HCM platform. Source, extract, and manipulate large data sets to support Business Analytics, ML and AI needs for Paychex.

We are seeking a skilled data engineer to join our analytics team in New York. Responsibilities include building data pipelines, data security, collaboration with data teams, and delivering automation to optimize the data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or equivalent software/services experience.
• 4 years of experience with SQL, Snowflake, Databricks, Spark and other Big Data technologies.
• 4 years of experience building and optimizing data pipelines and data sets.
• 2 years of experience with large-scale data processing using Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Databricks and Cosmos DB.
• 4 years of experience with Python, SQL, PySpark, R.
• 2 years of experience with data privacy, compliance and security.

Responsibilities

• Assemble large, complex data sets from diverse sources to meet business requirements.
• Collaborate with data architects, data owners, and stakeholders to groom the data platform backlog.
• Deliver automation to ensure high throughput and performance of the analytics platform.
• Ensure data extraction, transformation and loading meet security and compliance needs.
• Create data tools for data scientists to build and optimize models in Paychex products.
