Job summary

Brex’s Data Enablement Platform (DEP) team builds and operates the systems that deliver data to clients and partners. You will help construct Brex’s data infrastructure across the stack to enable data-backed product launches.

As a DEP team member, you’ll partner with product, data science, and analytics teams, raise data competency across the company, and invest in resilient architectures while contributing to on-call rotations and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a data infrastructure or data platform role.
• Experience with Snowflake, Flink, Airflow, dbt, or CDC.
• Fluency in Kotlin or Python; backend or full-stack experience.
• Willingness to work in the office 3 days a week.

Job description

Brex’s product depends on large volumes of data from many sources and in many forms. The Data Enablement Platform (DEP) team owns and operates the systems that deliver this data to clients and partners with product teams to build impactful data-backed products. As a DEP team member, you will help build Brex’s data infrastructure and work across the entire data stack to help product teams launch data-backed products.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, improve, and maintain Brex’s data platform and infrastructure, including the data warehouse and analytics, data streaming, replication and materialization, data orchestration, data observability, and access and governance
• Partner with product, data science, and analytics teams to launch products backed by data insights
• Raise data competency across Brex through partnership and education
• Invest in resilient data architectures, join on-call rotations, and continuously improve operational efficiency

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in a data infrastructure or data platform role
• Experience with one or more of Snowflake, Flink, Airflow, dbt, or CDC
• Fluency in Kotlin or a similar language such as Python
• Experience building and maintaining a large-scale modern data stack
• Experience with streaming infrastructure such as Kafka
• Experience in backend engineering or full-stack development
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially across team boundaries
• Willingness to work in the office 3 days a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays)
