Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC) seeks a Data Platform Engineer to advance governance, automation and reliable data products across Cognite Data Fusion, Databricks and Azure Lakehouse. The role focuses on scalable pipelines, security controls and cross-team collaboration to enable AI-driven insights.

With 2+ years in data platforms and cloud tooling, you will optimize performance, monitor health, and contribute to trusted data ecosystems in a large enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in data platforms or similar roles.
• Experience with cloud data platforms, pipelines, integrations or automation preferred.
• Experience with Azure, Databricks, Cognite Data Fusion, SQL, Python, APIs, DevOps or monitoring tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identifies operational inefficiencies and recommends solutions.
• Independently manages platform updates and migrations.
• Implements and upholds security protocols for data platforms.
• Assists in optimizing the platform for performance and scalability.
• Collaborates with other IT departments for seamless system integrations.
• Supports Cognite Data Fusion, Databricks, Azure and related services across platforms.
