Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Company LP seeks a data platform professional to advance the company’s data ecosystem. You will work on governed data products and automation across Cognite Data Fusion, Databricks, and Azure, delivering reliable data pipelines and scalable solutions.

Bring 2+ years of experience with cloud data platforms, SQL and Python, plus a collaborative approach to cross-team initiatives. This full-time role is based in San Antonio, TX, with on-site responsibilities and strong security

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent IT experience required.
• 2+ years in data platforms, pipelines, or automation preferred.
• Experience with Azure, Databricks, Cognite Data Fusion, SQL, Python, APIs, DevOps or monitoring tools preferred.
• Exposure to production support, incident triage and deployment validation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identifies operational inefficiencies and recommends solutions.
• Manages platform updates and migrations independently.
• Implements security protocols for data platforms and maintains backups.
• Optimizes platform performance and scalability through automation.
• Collaborates with IT and product teams for integrations and runbooks.
• Supports Cognite Data Fusion, Databricks, Azure and related services.
• Monitors health, alerts, and data refreshes and troubleshoots issues.
• Contributes to CI/CD practices and automation of routine tasks.
