Job summary

Socket.dev seeks a Data Modeling Analyst to enhance BI reporting within a Microsoft Fabric environment. You will translate stakeholder needs into dashboards and reports, leveraging existing semantic models for scalable insights. Over time, you will expand to enterprise data modeling, pipelines, and governance to improve the data ecosystem.

You will work with SQL, Power BI, and evolving platforms, collaborating across business and technical teams to ensure data accuracy and impactful analytics.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL development and data analysis skills.
• Knowledge of Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, ETL/ELT, and medallion architectures.
• Experience with Power BI or similar BI tools.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric semantic models and modern analytics platforms.
• Working knowledge of Python and Spark.
• Understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT concepts.
• Experience with Microsoft Report Builder (Paginated Reports) is a plus.
• Excellent communication across a multi-tiered organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance BI reports and dashboards using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
• Leverage existing semantic models to deliver scalable reporting solutions.
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries for reporting and analytics needs.
• Collaborate with business users and technical teams to translate requirements into insights.
• Validate data accuracy and support data quality initiatives.
• Assist with designing and optimizing data models and reporting structures.
• Support future Python- and Spark-based data solutions and pipelines.
• Contribute to enterprise data and analytics initiatives as the platform matures.
