Job summary

Synechron is seeking an experienced Data Modeler to design, develop, and maintain enterprise data models for analytics and data warehouses. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, data architects, ETL developers, DBAs, and analytics teams to ensure scalable, compliant structures and robust data governance.

The role requires strong SQL, relational database knowledge, and hands-on use of Erwin/ER/Studio/PowerDesigner.

  • Develop dimensional models including Star and Snowflake schemas for reporting and analytics.
  • Collaborate with data architects, ETL developers, DBAs, and business teams.
  • Perform data profiling, data quality assessments, and data validation.
  • Optimize database performance through efficient data modeling techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory standards.
  • Support data migration, integration, and modernization initiatives.

Our challenge

We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler to design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support enterprise data initiatives. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data architects, ETL developers, and analytics teams to ensure data structures are scalable, efficient, and aligned with business requirements.

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $95k - $100k/year & benefits (see below).

Role Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Strong experience in Data Modeling and Data Architecture.
  • Hands‑on experience with Erwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, or similar data modeling tools.
  • Expertise in SQL and relational database concepts.
  • Experience with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Teradata, or DB2.
  • Strong understanding of Data Warehousing, ETL processes, and dimensional modeling.
  • Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data lineage concepts.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Preferred, but not required: Experience with Big Data technologies and modern data platforms.
  • Knowledge of Data Vault modeling techniques.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Certification in data management or cloud technologies is a plus.
