Job summary

INSPYR Solutions in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Data Modeler to design, test, and maintain reusable enterprise data products that support business and analytic needs. You will work at the field and attribute level while aligning data solutions with the broader data strategy.

You will partner with stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts to elicit requirements, translate complex business concepts into scalable data designs, and ensure data quality through profiling, lineage, and documentation.

Qualifications

Title: Data Modeler Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid 4x/week) Compensation: $110 - $120k + Bonus Duration: Direct Hire Work Requirements: US Citizen, Green Card Holders

Job Overview

The Data Modeler will be responsible for designing, testing, and maintaining reusable enterprise data products that support business and analytical needs. This role requires the ability to work at a detailed, field-by-field level while also understanding how individual data products fit into a broader enterprise data strategy.

The Data Modeler will partner closely with business stakeholders, analysts, Data Engineers, and other technical teams to elicit requirements, translate complex business concepts into scalable data solutions, and make sound data design decisions. Success in this role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, business analysis capabilities, design judgment, and communication skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Design, test, and maintain reusable data products, including tables, fields, data models, glossaries, and standards.
• Work at the field and attribute level to ensure data products accurately represent business requirements and concepts.
• Proactively identify and develop data solutions that answer complex business questions.
• Partner with stakeholders across multiple teams to elicit, document, and translate business and technical requirements into effective data solutions.
• Perform data profiling and lineage analysis to understand data quality, relationships, dependencies, and movement across systems.
• Evaluate data performance and design considerations to ensure data products are scalable, efficient, and maintainable.
• Apply dimensional modeling principles when designing analytical and enterprise data products.
• Partner with Data Engineers and analysts to support the development and implementation of data products.
• Create and maintain clear documentation, including data models, lineage, business definitions, standards, and design decisions.
• Apply strong design judgment when balancing technical requirements, business needs, performance, and usability.
• Promote data literacy by clearly communicating data definitions, relationships, and business concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Facilitate meetings and discussions across business, analytics, and technical teams to drive alignment on data solutions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong SQL skills with the ability to analyze, profile, validate, and work with complex datasets.
• Working knowledge of Python for data analysis, profiling, or related data activities.
• Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, data warehousing, data lineage, data profiling, and data design concepts.
• Ability to understand complex business logic and translate it into well-designed technical data solutions.
• Strong requirements-gathering and business analysis capabilities, including the ability to ask effective questions and uncover underlying business needs.
• Excellent facilitation, presentation, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate between business, analytics, engineering, and other technical teams.
• Strong design judgment and the ability to articulate why a data product is structured or modeled in a particular way.
• Ability to develop strong working relationships with process owners, data stewards, product owners, analysts, and engineering teams.
• Strong curiosity and desire to understand business processes, data relationships, and how data is consumed across the organization.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across multiple teams and initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in data modeling, data analysis, data engineering, business analysis, or a related data-focused role.
• Hands‑on experience with SQL and relational data concepts.
• Experience with data modeling, data profiling, data lineage, and requirements gathering.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Experience working with Snowflake.
• Experience with Palantir Foundry or similar enterprise data platforms.
• Experience using Python within a data or analytics environment.
• Experience creating and supporting reusable enterprise data products.
• Experience with dimensional data modeling and modern data warehouse environments.
