Job summary

Goldbelt, Inc. is seeking a Data Manager II to provide data management support for the NHSN Dialysis Event module within the Dialysis program.

You will work with CDC partners to ensure data quality and system usability, developing and launching data validation projects and supporting CMS quality programs. Overview

Please note that this position is contingent upon the successful award of a contract currently under bid. Goldbelt C6 protects the safety and health of the country by supporting civilian public health and defense medical marketspace. C6 offers research and development, engineering, and logistics services that enhance and enlarge customers' operations. C6's expertise is focused on integrating C6ISR and scientific, engineering, and technical support for various government partners. Summary

Goldbelt C6 is seeking a Data Manager II to provide data management support for the NHSN Dialysis Event module within the Dialysis program.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise on the function and use of the NHSN Dialysis Event module, including thorough understanding of the application from a user perspective.
  • Conduct user outreach and education and provide consultation and technical assistance to dialysis provider groups, quality improvement organizations, and health departments to support HAI prevention, surveillance, and response activities and meet NHSN data quality needs.
  • Develop NHSN system modifications to improve data quality and other system attributes, tracking modifications.
  • Update surveillance forms, instructions, and protocols, and make improvement recommendations.
  • Develop and launch NHSN data validation projects to evaluate and improve quality.
  • Work with Division SMEs to enhance usability of NHSN surveillance data for prevention efforts.
  • Manage reports, data file exchanges, and file exchange agreements between CDC and partner organizations.
  • Review and respond to CMS documents and user inquiries related to NHSN and CMS quality incentive programs.
  • Handle inquiries from existing and prospective NHSN Dialysis Event module users, perform enrollment, and provide user support regarding CDC HAI definitions, criteria, and data entry. Expected inquiry volume is 212 per month (range 122–415).
  • Identify user/system issues requiring modifications; contribute to development and prioritization of NHSN system modifications; communicate with users to improve interface and analytic/group functions.
  • Prepare and present educational trainings (20–30 annually) about NHSN to professional organizations and governmental bodies at national, state, and local levels.
  • Write and review new training/educational documents and outreach messages, ensuring consistency with CDC and related organizations.
  • Provide technical information and communication draft materials to CDC dialysis HAI SMEs and members of the CDC Making Dialysis Safer for Patients Coalition.
  • Assist with planning meetings related to NHSN, the Coalition, and dialysis safety, including agendas, speakers, sessions, presentations, handouts, and logistics.
  • Provide recommendation materials to CDC communication experts to promote CDC-recommended HAI prevention strategies.
  • Write/review content for the CDC Dialysis Safety webpage, ensuring consistency with CDC and related organizations.
  • Perform data management and cleaning, including quality assessment analyses.
  • Perform NHSN data analyses, including for CMS quality incentive programs, and create reports describing infection control practices among dialysis centers.
  • Provide updates on CMS, ESRD Network, NCC, and other CMS contractor activities related to dialysis facilities to guide SME activity development.
  • Participate in NHSN, HAI prevention/patient safety, and data quality/validation activities.
  • Develop and promote CDC infection prevention and surveillance resources to partners.
  • Write and review program summaries, reports, proposals, and other documents pertaining to data findings and outbreak investigations.
  • Review and develop website materials and communications related to infection prevention, surveillance, and response.
  • Participate during CDC response activities and training exercises under direction of the DHQP Team Lead; duties include staffing the EOC desk to help support CDC's mission
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing to make clear, convincing presentations.
  • Knowledge of the rules, procedures, and principles that govern intramural and extramural program development, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Highly proficient in using Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint).
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making; capable of working independently with ability to multitask successfully.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication in interpersonal exchanges.
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, or related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience providing public health data analysis and manipulating, cleaning, and reporting data using a variety of statistical functions. Basic proficiency with Excel and databases; familiarity with SQL, reporting tools, or data-management systems.
  • Ability to perform data entry, cleaning, validation, reconciliation, and basic quality-control activities.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot routine data discrepancies.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CDC Public Trust Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, or related field.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience providing public health data analysis and manipulating, cleaning, and reporting data using a variety of statistical functions.
  • Prior experience working with the CDC is highly desired to understand the culture and environment.
Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $105,000 annually.
