Job summary

The Data Manager-Research at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Streeterville, Chicago will support the research program by developing data collection systems, organizing, cleaning, storing and analyzing study data from sponsored projects. This role will also participate in planning and executing data management activities across studies.

You will design data management procedures, ensure data quality and regulatory compliance, and create data dictionaries while collaborating with study statisticians

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in biostatistics, epidemiology, public health, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience managing research data.
  • Experience programming electronic questionnaires.
  • Experience with statistical storage and analysis software such as SPSS, SAS, STATA, R, Python, mPlus, SUDAAN.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary resource for investigators and research staff regarding data management best practices.
  • Develop, validate, and implement data management procedures that ensure high data quality, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Create instructional and reference materials for users.
  • Perform data quality reviews and implement data validation protocols.
  • Set up data files & codebooks within the program’s preferred system (e.g. REDCap, Qualtrics, ACASI).
  • Ensure data files are captured accurately for data analysis.
  • Reviews, organizes, and cleans study data as they are collected and maintains secure storage practices.
  • Executes study close-out and data archiving tasks according to institutional guidelines.
  • Designs and performs data imports/exports between database and other systems in preparation for analysis.
  • Works with study statisticians to prepare datasets and assist with basic data analysis.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
