Job summary

GAF seeks a Master Data Management Intern to join the Data Management / Transformation Office and help organize, clean, and govern core enterprise data assets across systems. You will work with data stewards and IT to maintain a single source of truth, perform data cleansing, governance documentation, and support migrations and reporting activities.

The role offers practical exposure to enterprise-grade data governance, data quality initiatives, and mentoring from experienced data professionals

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, MIS, or related field.
• Familiarity with SQL and data analysis using Google Sheets or Excel.
• Willingness to learn enterprise tools such as Informatica, SAP, Salesforce, or Oracle.
• Strong attention to detail and clear communication of findings.

Responsibilities

• Support data cleansing, auditing, profiling to ensure data quality across enterprise platforms.
• Document data flows, SOPs, data dictionaries, and governance policies.
• Collaborate with business units and IT to research data discrepancies and support root-cause analysis.
• Assist in MDM system migrations, upgrades, testing, and report building.
• Generate routine data quality metrics and analytics using Excel/SQL.

Master Data Management Intern Department: Data Management / Transformation Office Job Summary A Master Data Management (MDM) intern assists with organizing, cleaning, and governing core enterprise data assets like product, customer, or supplier information across systems.

Essential Duties

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and analytical Master Data Management (MDM) Intern to join our data team. In this role, you will gain hands‑on experience supporting enterprise-wide data governance, data quality, and system integration initiatives. You will work closely with data stewards, IT professionals, and business stakeholders to help maintain a reliable, accurate "single source of truth" for critical business data.

• Data Cleansing & Validation: Assist in data collection, auditing, profiling, and cleansing activities to identify anomalies and ensure high data quality across enterprise platforms.
• Process & Governance Documentation: Help document data flows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), data dictionaries, and governance policies.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with business units and technical teams to research data discrepancies, answer inquiries, and support root‑cause analysis for data issues.
• Project Support: Participate in active MDM system migrations, software upgrades, or testing initiatives (such as validating data models, user acceptance testing, or report building).
• Reporting & Analysis: Utilize tools like Excel, SQL, Sheets to track data quality metrics and generate routine operational reports.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field.
• Technical Aptitude: Familiarity or coursework involving database concepts, SQL, or data analysis using Google Sheets / Excel.
• Eagerness to learn enterprise tools (e.g., Informatica, SAP, Salesforce, or Oracle).
• Attention to Detail: Strong commitment to data accuracy, consistency, and structural organization.
• Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills to explain technical findings and collaborate with team members.
• Problem-Solving: Demonstrated analytical mindset with an interest in untangling complex data workflows and improving business processes.

Base salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Individual compensation offers will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant candidate experience and skill, education, and/or qualifications.

Base Hourly Rate: $20.00
