Description

Job Description

The Data Management Analyst is responsible for accurate gathering, abstraction and analysis of clinical data for Mount Sinai West and St. Lukes Hospitals, providing such data to all applicable regulatory agencies. In addition, this individual serves as Deputy Medical Facility Administrator and provides instruction and guidance on eVital application use, approves registrations and serves as overall subject matter expert on related applications.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Vital Events Registration System - Bureau of Vital Statistics tomonitor and register daily departmental Vital Statistic activities to the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYCDOHMH), ensuring data accuracy and record integrity.
  • Abstract and analyze clinical data from medical records, conduct patient interviews, as needed, and collaborate with other hospital departments to collect all proper documentation to assure timely and precise reporting procedures and certificate completion.
  • Serve as Deputy Medical Facility Administrator for St Lukes and West locations to guide providers and staff on new eVital application uses, provide on-site technical support internally and externally, register and deactivate profiles, approve registrations, perform other duties associated with department of Ob/Gyn and others,serve as knowledge and training resource to internal teams
  • Liaison between New York State Department of Health, hospital management, hospital departments involved in process maintaining effective communication on problem identification and query resolution
  • Use hospital and state software application systems, such as Microsoft Office Suite, EMSTAT, Eagle, Peribirth (prior to Epic), Prism, Epic, Evers, eVital, URFto create and validate all data submissions in accordance with the New York Department of Health and Mental Hygiene local and New York State requirements. Utilize discretion and critical judgment in fact-gathering and review, assessment of regulatory factors, and documentation of findings.
  • Focus on achieving maximum efficiency and effectiveness in collection and reporting of all data.
  • Maintain quality control of reported data in the registry for Mount Sinai West and Lukes Hospitals. Monitor data trends, identify patterns and recommend improvement solutions to improve data quality reporting with providers, operations staff and leadership teams
  • Assist in performing internal audits of clinical documentation to acknowledge and resolve gaps in weaker spheres of documentation process. Participated in generating hospital policy for multiple disciplines to determine concerns, benefits and flow elements.
  • Conduct patient interviews, as needed, and collaborate with other health system divisions. Aim to achieve patient satisfaction by addressing issues or concerns pertaining to services provided and clinical documentation generated through process. Apply strong interpersonal skills and intelligence to respond to direct patient inquiries.
  • Notify of discrepancies and concerns in any part of the reporting process to Administrative Director and other stakeholders
  • Additional duties as assigned

Compensation Statement

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,661.00 - $81,675.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
