Fors Marsh Group is seeking a Data Management Analyst I/II to join our Data Craft Center. This role focuses on wrangling data with R, creating metadata, and cleaning survey data for diverse client projects.

The position requires 1–2 years in R-based data management, strong data wrangling skills, and a US citizenship with ability to pass a background check. Remote work within the United States is supported.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Creates metadata and writes R syntax from questionnaires and labels.
• Runs test data through syntax and cleans/recodes sample frames with supervision.
• Reviews teammates' code and outputs for errors on low complexity projects.
• Maintains documentation of data management processes.
• Performs basic statistical operations and data transformations.
• Troubleshoots syntax issues with minimal supervision.
• Explains technical concepts to team members in depth.
• Identifies concerns and communicates with senior staff.
• Supports cross-team reporting and knowledge sharing.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Fors Marsh is seeking a data management professional who knows how to wrangle data using R. This individual will support many client projects within Fors Marsh, as a part of our Data Craft Center.

Responsibilities include:

• Creates metadata files and writes syntax in R, given a written questionnaire, variable names, and descriptive labels; systematically runs test data through created syntax to identify discrepancies between instrument specifications and programed surveys; and cleans and recodes sample frames on projects with low level of complexity with minimal supervision or on projects with a moderate level of complexity with direct supervision.
• Reviews the code and output of other team members for any potential coding or output errors on projects with low level of complexity with direct supervision.
• Creates, maintains, and uses documentation of data management processes.
• Performs basic statistical operations and data manipulation/transformation.
• Troubleshoots any issues or errors that occur in the syntax with minimal supervision.
• Is adept at applying robust processes.
• Works independently on own task list.
• Possesses the ability to explain technical concepts in depth to team members within own division.
• Ability to identify and communicate any potential concerns to senior staff within own division on all projects and activities they are involved in.
• Supports team members within own division with reporting potential concerns to teams across the company.
• Achieves professional development through internal and external technical training.

Qualifications:

• 1 to 2 years of experience using R, Rstudio, and it's various packages for data management.
• 1-2 years of experience cleaning and wrangling data, especially survey data or database management.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in statistics, social sciences, or related disciplines.
• Applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to sensitive information.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and consent to a full background check due to our federal contract requirements.
• Experience using Github is a plus.

Salary: $55,000-$75,000
