Job summary

City of New York is seeking a Senior Auditor for Data & Innovation to lead audits of contractors under prevailing wage laws and to drive the adoption of AI tools within the Bureau. The role features management of the NYC EComply system and collaboration with IT teams to implement new audit technologies.

The position requires a relevant bachelor’s degree with auditing credits, and professional licenses or certifications such as CPA or CIA are preferred. New York residency is typically required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 24 credits in auditing/related fields and one year of audit experience.
• CPA license or CIA certification as alternative qualifications.
• Assignment II eligibility requires one year as Assignment I or two years of GAGAS/internal/IT auditing experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct audits of books and records to ensure compliance with labor laws and prepare data in spreadsheets.
• Lead data management in the EComply system for electronic payroll reports.
• Train auditors in adoption of AI tools and produce guidance materials as needed.
• Collaborate with vendors and IS&T to implement new audit technologies and systems.
• Oversee audits related to minimum average hourly wage and 485-x, providing feedback to staff.
