Job summary

Alignerr Corp. is seeking a Senior C++ Engineer to design and build high-performance data pipelines, annotation tooling, and evaluation systems powering leading AI research. You will work on production-grade C++ systems, focusing on performance and reliability in a distributed data processing environment.

The role is fully remote as an hourly contract (20–40 hours per week). You will collaborate with data, research, and engineering teams to ship scalable infrastructure and production-ready

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of professional experience writing production-grade C++.
• Deep expertise in efficient binary serialization formats.
• Experience implementing zero-copy data exchange protocols for high-speed pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize high-performance C++ systems supporting large-scale AI data pipelines and evaluation workflows.
• Develop full-stack tooling and backend services for data annotation, validation, and quality control.
• Improve reliability, performance, and safety across existing C++ codebases.
• Collaborate with data, research, and engineering teams to support model training and evaluation workflows.
• Identify bottlenecks and edge cases in data and system behavior, and implement scalable, production-ready fixes.
• Participate in synchronous design reviews to iterate on system architecture and implementation decisions.

What You'll Do

Who You Are

• Native or fluent English speaker with clear written and verbal communication skills
• Full-stack developer with a strong systems programming background
• 3–5+ years of professional experience writing production-grade C++
• Deep expertise in efficient binary serialization formats
• Experienced implementing zero-copy data exchange protocols for high-speed pipelines
• Self-directed and able to commit 20–40 hours per week in a remote environment

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with data annotation, data quality, or evaluation systems
• Familiarity with AI/ML workflows, model training, or benchmarking pipelines
• Experience with distributed systems or developer tooling
