Job summary

MasterApp Labs LLC in Richmond, VA is seeking a Senior Data Governance Business Analyst on a contract basis to lead governance initiatives, assess data processes, and drive improvements across the enterprise. You will facilitate cross-functional sessions with data owners and engineers, translate policies into requirements, and help implement sustainable governance practices with measurable outcomes.

This role features hybrid work with on-site presence two days per week and exposure to enterprise

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in senior-level business analysis, requirements elicitation, and process improvement.
• Advanced facilitation skills for cross-functional sessions and driving decisions to resolution.
• Ability to translate policies and business requirements into operational processes and controls.
• Knowledge of enterprise data governance concepts including ownership, stewardship, access governance, data quality, and compliance.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills; able to work independently and with teams.
• Five or more years of experience in business analysis, requirements elicitation, or related enterprise functions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze governance gaps, risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Facilitate requirements elicitation and design for governance initiatives (current and future state).
• Translate governance policies and needs into actionable requirements, workflows, and controls.
• Develop process maps, SOPs, RACI matrices, and performance measures.
• Support implementation, automation, adoption, and continuous improvement of governance practices.
• Facilitate cross-functional sessions with data owners, stewards, BAUs, enterprise architecture, security, analytics, and partners.
• Document governance decisions, communicate requirements, and coordinate follow-through.
• Foster collaboration and accountability for governance across stakeholders.
• Define and monitor measures of governance effectiveness, engagement, compliance, and data quality.
