Job summary

Cloud Theory in Jersey City, NJ, is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to strengthen data governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance across data assets. This hybrid role requires onsite work in Jersey City two to three days per month.

You will drive data classification, lineage, PII standards, and report governance metrics to leadership. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in GRC and data governance, strong SQL and analytics skills, and experience coordinating cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in GRC, data governance, data management, or a related role.
• Experience leading and coordinating cross-discipline project teams.
• Excellent oral and written communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in SQL and data analysis and reporting tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain data governance and quality procedures, translating standards into actionable controls.
• Drive data classification, dictionaries, metadata, and lineage documentation across data assets.
• Define and enforce standards for PII handling and data retention across environments.
• Provide training to business stakeholders, data owners, and data stewards.
• Generate reports and dashboards to track governance performance and risk indicators.
• Collaborate to establish access, platform roles, and data export guidelines with privacy considerations.
• Support data quality initiatives across revenue and audience data.
• Analyze data assets to identify integrity issues and drive remediation.
• Own policy-layer for data platforms and ensure governance is built into pipelines.
• Ensure compliance with privacy regulations such as CCPA.
• Liaise with Infrastructure, legal, and business teams to resolve governance issues.
• Support data risk assessments and audits; participate in incident escalation.
• Monitor infrastructure security issues and surface findings to leadership.
• Develop automation scripts to streamline governance processes.
• Utilize ITSM and fulfillment platforms to manage service requests and incidents.
