ProFocus Technology seeks aSenior Data Governance and Quality Lead to establish foundational governance, ownership, quality, and operating practices for enterprise data. You will collaborate across technology and business teams to define Systems of Record, implement catalogs and glossaries, and ensure data quality and lineage across modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading data governance initiatives in complex organizations.
• Experience establishing governance where formal ownership and stewardship are immature.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata management, data lineage, SoR, master data, and data lifecycle.
• Experience creating data catalogs, business glossaries, ownership models, and data-quality frameworks.
• Ability to trace business information from source through transformations and downstream consumption.
• Technical depth to collaborate with data engineering, database, apps, integration, BI, architecture, and analytics teams.
• Experience with cloud data platforms and modern enterprise reporting/analytics environments.
• Experience supporting ERP, data platforms, or enterprise modernization initiatives.
• Strong facilitation, change-management, written documentation, and executive communication skills.
• Retail, distribution, supply chain, complex legacy modernization, and Snowflake or comparable cloud data platform experience preferred.

TITLE: Data Governance and Quality Lead - Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Lineage
LOCATION: West Jordan, UT - On-site for the first 90 days, then hybrid with 2 days from home each week
PAY: Target pay for this role is between $75 and $90 per hour but may vary based on experience
ENGAGEMENT TYPE: Contract
DURATION: Contract expected to last 6-12 months, with option to extend

What You'll Be Doing

This is a Senior level Data Governance and Quality Lead position focused on establishing the foundational governance, ownership, quality, and operating practices needed to create greater trust in enterprise data and support major technology modernization initiatives.
This is a hands-on transformation role rather than a policy-only governance position. You'll work across technology and business teams to understand how critical data is created, changed, interpreted, and consumed; establish ownership and stewardship; define authoritative Systems of Record; build practical data catalog and business glossary capabilities; and establish sustainable data-quality, lineage, issue-management, and escalation practices.
You'll also partner with teams supporting ERP, reporting, integrations, data platforms, and other modernization initiatives to identify data dependencies and migration risks. The initial engagement will focus on establishing a practical governance foundation and operating model that can ultimately be sustained by permanent organizational owners and data stewards.

Who We're Looking For

• Significant experience leading data governance and/or enterprise data-quality initiatives in complex organizations

• Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata management, data lineage, Systems of Record, master/reference data, and data lifecycle practices
• Experience creating practical data catalogs, business glossaries, ownership models, and data-quality frameworks
• Ability to trace business information from source through transformations and downstream consumption
• Technical depth to collaborate effectively with data engineering, database, application, integration, BI, architecture, and analytics teams
• Experience with cloud data platforms and modern enterprise reporting/analytics environments
• Experience supporting major ERP, application, data-platform, or enterprise modernization initiatives
• Strong facilitation, change-management, written documentation, and executive communication skills
• Retail, distribution, supply chain, complex legacy modernization, and Snowflake or comparable cloud data platform experience are preferred
