Job Description

We are seeking aData GovernanceProject Manager to support one of our key CIB clients on a regulatory program focused on NYDFS 23 NYCRR 500.13(b). The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data governance, records management, regulatory compliance, and cybersecurity controls, and be capable of leading cross‑functional initiatives with Risk, Legal, IT, and Data Governance teams.

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on critical regulatory initiatives, contribute to the bank’s data lifecycle governance, and help strengthen the organization’s compliance posture in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

Role and responsibilities
  • Lead the NYDFS 500.13(b) compliance program, including annual attestation, documentation, and evidence collection.
  • Conduct scoping workshops with Business, IT, and Data Governance to identify in-scope applications containing NPI/PII data.
  • Define and document data disposal requirements, retention rules, and governance standards for all relevant applications.
  • Develop end‑to‑end disposal procedures including RACI, controls, evidence frameworks, and compliance checkpoints.
  • Coordinate risk acceptance documentation where data disposal is not feasible, working with Risk, Legal, and Technology partners.
  • Manage testing activities and produce testing reports for 2025 applications, ensuring controls operate as designed.
  • Prepare SIAP closing packages and annual compliance deliverables for 2024 and 2025.
  • Provide ongoing project coordination, reporting, and stakeholder alignment to ensure timely and accurate execution.
Qualifications
  • 5–10+ years of experience in GRC, Data Governance, or Regulatory Compliance within financial services.
  • Experience with data lifecycle management, records management, retention schedules, and legal holds.
  • Demonstrated ability to create governance documentation: processes, RACI, controls, and evidence frameworks.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience coordinating cross‑functional stakeholders (Risk, Legal, IT, Data).
  • Familiarity with risk acceptance processes and regulatory attestation packages.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex regulatory requirements into clear deliverables.
  • Prior experience within a banking, CIB, or regulated environment is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of NYDFS 23 NYCRR Part 500, particularly Section 500.13(b) on data disposal and retention is a PLUS.
