Job description

What you will be doing:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain corporate data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements from entities such as state departments of insurance (DOIs), NAIC, and other governing bodies.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and internal reviews to identify areas of non-compliance or operational risk.
  • Collaborate with business units to remediate control gaps and strengthen policy enforcement.
  • Prepare and present data governance reports, dashboards, and findings to leadership and regulatory bodies.
  • Support corporate initiatives such as data governance, vendor oversight, and business continuity planning.
  • Lead internal teams responsible for developing and delivering data management solutions and services to ensure appropriate use of data
  • Lead training and awareness programs related to governance and compliance best practices.
  • Establish roles and responsibilities for data stewardship and data consumption
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

What you have:

Education, Experience, and Licensing:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Risk Management, Business Administration, or Management Information Systems or related fields. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in data governance, compliance, or business analysis/intelligence required
  • 2+ years of leadership experience including setting goals and managing performance.
  • Experience in the P&C Homeowner’s insurance industry required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Purview highly preferred

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of insurance regulatory environments, risk frameworks, and operational best practices.
  • Proficiency with governance tools, policy management software, and GRC platforms.
  • Solid knowledge of business operations, procedures, and priorities with a strong ability to support change and impart value within an organization.
  • Effective research, problem solving, analytical, critical thinking, influencing, and relationship management skills necessary.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with proficiency in effectively conveying information to key stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively communicating with multiple teams.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficient in MSO/365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
