Job summary

Advance Local is seeking a Data Governance Specialist - Technology to lead governance and risk controls across data assets. The role focuses on quality, privacy, and regulatory compliance while partnering with engineering and security teams in a primarily remote setting with some in‑office time.

You will define standards for PII, classifications, and metadata, produce governance dashboards, and train stakeholders. Strong SQL and data tooling experience are required.

Qualifications

• Requires 3–5 years in GRC, data governance, or data management.
• Proven ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams and communicate with stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with data privacy focus.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain data governance and quality procedures with actionable controls.
• Coordinate data classification, dictionaries, metadata, and lineage across assets.
• Enforce standards for PII handling and data retention across environments.
• Provide training to data owners and stewards on governance best practices.
• Conduct DPIAs and risk assessments per privacy regulations.
• Generate dashboards to track governance, quality, risk, and compliance metrics.
• Collaborate to establish access, roles, and export controls based on privacy considerations.
• Support data quality initiatives and remediation across revenue and audience data.
• Analyze data assets to identify issues and drive remediation.
• Serve as policy-layer owner for data platforms and pipelines.
