Job summary

SMX is seeking a Technical Data Management Specialist to support a government client in Huntsville, AL. You will blend data governance knowledge with hands‑on scripting and database skills to automate data operations and analytics.

Responsibilities include managing program data lifecycle, ETL scripting in Python, writing SQL to profile data, and enabling BI/AI/ML readiness. A Secret clearance and a degree in a related field are required, with residence within 70 miles of Redstone Arsenal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in data management or related field (or 7+ years with high school diploma).
• Proficient in Python scripting and SQL for data manipulation.
• Experience with data governance and data analytics.

Responsibilities

• Support management of program data across MDA system.
• Automate data extraction, transformation, loading (ETL) scripts.
• Write SQL queries to profile data and perform root-cause analysis.
• Support data readiness for BI, AI/ML, and analytics.
• Coordinate data flows for mission execution.
