Job summary

SMX is seeking a highly skilled Data Manager to support a government client in Huntsville, AL. You will leverage data governance principles and hands-on scripting to automate ETL, validate data, and manage program data throughout its lifecycle.

The role requires SQL proficiency, Python scripting, and strong communication to collaborate across teams. Candidates must reside within 70 miles of Redstone Arsenal and hold a Secret clearance. Salary range is $65,000–$80,000 USD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or 7+ years relevant experience
• Experience with data governance concepts and data management practices
• Ability to multi-task across projects and communicate effectively
• Must reside within 70 miles of Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL

Responsibilities

• Support management of program data across MDA system
• Lifecycle data events: collection, validation, storage, dissemination, archival
• Data integration and interoperability across programs
• Design/write/test Python scripts to automate ETL and archiving
• Write SQL queries to profile data and optimize schemas
• Coordinate data flows for mission readiness and post-mission turnaround
• Identify data gaps and opportunities for improvement
• Support data readiness for BI, AI/ML and advanced analytics
