Job summary

IBM Consulting is seeking a Data Governance Systems Designer to define governance across large data modernization programs. You will define data definitions, ownership, quality rules, and metadata to ensure trusted, auditable data across AWS/Databricks and SAP-sourced data.

The role requires collaboration with data modelers, engineers, and business stakeholders, with travel up to four days per week. You will run governance workshops, monitor data quality, and help implement metadata repositories

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 4 days per week travel required.
• Experience with governance tools (Collibra/Alation/Purview) and data platforms (Databricks/AWS).
• Knowledge of data glossary, lineage, metadata management, and quality rules.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain business glossary, data elements, and ownership models.
• Document data lineage and metadata across sources.
• Design data quality rules, thresholds, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with data modelers/engineers to align with governance standards.
• Apply governance in Unity Catalog and governance tools like Collibra.
