Job summary

Aptino, Inc. is seeking an experienced Data Governance Architect/Analyst to establish enterprise governance frameworks and drive regulatory compliance. You will partner with business and tech teams to improve data quality, lineage, and access across the organization.

The role requires deep knowledge of governance frameworks, metadata management, and data lifecycle concepts, with strong SQL skills and stakeholder-management capabilities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Architecture, or Business/Data Analysis.
• Strong understanding of Data Governance frameworks, policies, standards, and operating models.
• Experience with Metadata Management, Data Catalog, Data Lineage, Data Quality, and Business Glossary.
• Strong knowledge of Data Management concepts and best practices.
• Experience defining data domains, data ownership, stewardship, and critical data elements.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with both business and technical stakeholders.
• Good understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures.
• Define and maintain data ownership, stewardship, classification, and accountability models.
• Develop and maintain data dictionaries, business glossaries, metadata, and data lineage.
• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to identify critical data elements and data domains.
• Establish and monitor data quality rules, KPIs, and governance metrics.
• Analyze data issues and coordinate with data owners and technology teams to drive resolution.
• Support data architecture, metadata management, and master/reference data management initiatives.
• Ensure data governance practices align with security, privacy, risk, and regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate Data Governance Council and stakeholder meetings and track governance initiatives.
• Develop documentation, process flows, governance standards, and operating models.
• Support implementation and administration of Data Governance and Metadata Management tools.
• Collaborate with Data Architects, Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Security, Compliance, and Application teams.
• Provide guidance on data lifecycle management, data retention, access, and usage.
• Identify opportunities to improve data governance processes through automation and standardization.
