Job summary

Citi is seeking a Data Steward Analyst to drive metadata, data lineage and data quality practices within AIM across Citi businesses. You will collaborate with business partners to identify CDEs and ensure metadata is standardized and accessible through data dictionaries and catalogs.

The role requires experience with SAS/SQL, Collibra or similar tools, and strong communication to liaise with Process Owners and Data Custodians. Hybrid work model with global collaboration.

Qualifications

• MBA or Master degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, IT or Engineering from a premier institute.
• BTech/B.E in Information Technology / Information Systems / Computer Applications required or preferred.
• 2 to 5 years of hands-on data analyst experience using SAS or SQL for data quality solutions.
• Experience with metadata tools like Collibra or Solidatus is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Identify and propose Critical Data Elements (CDEs) with business partners.

USDM team manages the implementation of best in class data quality measurement programs across globe in retail consumer bank. The critical areas we support:

• Regulatory Support: Execution of business data quality measurements as per regulatory programs like CCAR, AML etc
• Metrics Design: Identification of critical data elements in different systems, data quality rules design, Testing and validation of rules
• Data Governance: Standardization of data definitions and ensuring consistency in measurement as per definitions across systems/products/regions
• DQ Score cards : Publishing monthly/quarterly score cards at country level and preparing executive summary reports for senior management
• Metadata Management: Standardize in providing organizational understanding of business terms and usage, Collect & Integrate metadata from diverse sources and provide standard way to access metadata by maintaining data dictionaries, data catalogs etc.
• Issue Management: Identifying defects and investigating root causes for different issues. Following up with stakeholders for resolution as per SLA
• Audit Support: Identifying cases on control gaps, policy breaches and providing data evidence for audit completion

Roles and Responsibilities

• The Data Steward Analyst (Metadata/Data Lineage) role is responsible for defining, documenting, maintaining, communicating and publishing metadata, performing and maintaining data lineage and supporting the use of metadata for all data consumers.
• Work with business partners to Identify & propose data elements to be designated as Critical Data Element (CDEs).
• Identify Trusted Source (i.e. system of origin, system of record and authoritative provisioning point) for each approved CDE in their business process.
• Capture metadata for CDEs within the business process and ensure that it is stored in accordance to the CDO's Metadata Management Process.
• Review business glossary with the Process Owner and publish it to enterprise Metadata Repository.
• Support Data Custodians to manage and update data dictionaries.
• Serve as a trusted partner, collaborate and communicate frequently with Process Owner(s), Business Architects, Data Providers and Data Custodians.
• Be actively involved in various initiatives including but not limited to overlaying data on process maps, appropriateness of Trusted Source assignment for CDEs in scope, data quality, data lineage, metadata management and maintenance of data dictionaries.

• Experience on Metadata tools like Collibra or Solidatus would be an added advantage

Educational and Experience:

• MBA / Master degree in Economics / Statistics / Mathematics / Information Technology / Computer Applications / Engineering from a premier institute. BTech / B.E in Information Technology / Information Systems / Computer Applications
• 2 to 5 years of hands on experience as Data Analyst by using SAS or SQL to provide data quality solutions, with at least 1 year experience in Collibra or Metadata or Banking Industry
