Job summary

Health First seeks a Data Governance Analyst I to enable better use of data across our IDN. You will support governance policies, standards, and documentation while collaborating with data stewards and IT to ensure reliability, usability, security, and compliance.

You will help promote data literacy, maintain data dictionaries, and assist in data quality assessments under senior staff guidance. This hybrid role involves on-site work three days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Management, Analytics, or a related field.
• At least 3 years in data analysis or data management, preferably in healthcare.
• No licensure or certification required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
• Support administration of data governance processes and platforms.

Position Summary

The Data Governance Analyst I enables a more impactful use of data across Health First Integrated Delivery Network (IDN). The Data Governance Analyst I supports the development and implementation of data governance policies, standards, and procedures. The Data Governance Analyst I collaborates with senior data governance staff, business stakeholders, data stewards, and Information Technology (IT) teams to ensure reliability, usability, security, and compliance with data assets. The Data Governance Analyst I assists in promoting data literacy and maintaining data documentation.

Primary Accountabilities

• Assists in the development and implementation of data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
• Supports the administration of data governance business processes and technological platforms.
• Facilitates data literacy programs under the guidance of senior data governance staff.
• Aids senior Data Governance staff with data quality assessments and identification of areas for improvement.
• Maintains data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data lineage documentation.
• Helps data stewards in monitoring data governance compliance and resolving issues.
• Researches industry best practices and recommend improvements to data governance processes.
• Aids in ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Florida Information Protection Act (FIPA)).

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Management, Analytics, or relevant field.

Work Experience: Three (3) years’ experience in data analysis, data management, or related field and within the healthcare industry.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in working with data for business analysis or driving operational results.
• Strong communication skills and professional presence.
• Ability to facilitate complex, collaborative decision-making processes.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Familiarity with SQL or other data query languages.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree in Information Systems, Information Management, Analytics, or relevant field.

Work Experience: Two years’ experience in Data Governance.

Certification: Any one of the following prior to start date: Data Governance and Stewardship Professional (DGSP) OR Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) OR Related equivalent certification.

Preferred Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

• Proficiency with data governance tools (e.g. Purview, Collibra, Informatica).
• Understanding of data management principles, data quality frameworks and best practices.
• Knowledge of data privacy and protection regulations such as HIPAA, FIPA, and other relevant laws and regulations.
• Working knowledge of Epic, especially the Cogito data & analytics platform.

Physical Requirements

• Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, stooping.
• Long periods of computer time or at a workstation.
• Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.
• May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise.
• Communicating with others to exchange information.
• Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.
• Workspace may vary from open to confined.
• May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
