Job summary

IPT Associates (IPTA) is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to join an established DoD-focused team in Huntsville, AL. You will manage the enterprise data catalog, improve data quality, and support data stewardship, classification, and compliance efforts aligned to DoD, NIST, and FedRAMP requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 10 years in data governance, data management, or related role.
• Knowledge of data governance concepts, metadata mgmt, and data stewardship.
• Experience with data cataloging and metadata management.
• Proficiency writing and interpreting SQL queries.
• Familiarity with DoD and NIST data handling and compliance.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
• Active Security Clearance and DoD 8570 Level II/III certification.

Responsibilities

• Support enterprise data governance and metadata management across programs.
• Administer and enhance the enterprise data catalog and metadata.
• Develop data lineage, glossary content, and improve data discoverability.
• Identify data duplication and implement remediation solutions.
• Support MDM efforts to establish trusted data sources.
• Monitor data quality and coordinate remediation activities.
• Draft and enforce data governance policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with data stewards across business and technical teams.
• Prepare materials for data governance councils and track actions.
• Assist with data privacy, regulatory compliance, and audits.
• Collaborate with engineering to ensure governed data assets.
