Job summary

Independence Pet Holdings is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to lead and support the organization’s data governance program, focusing on data cataloging, metadata management, and data quality initiatives across North America.

The role collaborates with Data Governance, Security, Engineering, Legal and business stakeholders to ensure privacy compliance, data lineage, and effective governance practices while supporting Databricks Unity Catalog and MDM platforms.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Data Governance or related field.
• Hands-on experience implementing and administering data catalog platforms.
• Experience building and operating a Data Stewardship Program.
• Strong knowledge of data governance principles, metadata management, data cataloging, data lineage, and stewardship best practices.
• Experience with privacy, consent, and compliance technologies such as Osano.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support the enterprise Data Catalog with Data Governance team.
• Lead data catalog roadmap: metadata collection, onboarding, classification, glossary, lineage.
• Support Databricks Unity Catalog including access governance and catalog organization.
• Partner with data owners, stewards, and engineering to improve data discoverability and governance adoption.
• Design and lead the Data Stewardship Program aligned with catalog deployment.
• Serve as administrator and liaison for Osano, handling enhancements and compliance requests.
• Support Master Data Management platforms and governance processes.
• Monitor governance adoption, data quality, and usage metrics; suggest improvements.
• Develop governance documentation, standards and procedures.
