Job Summary:

The responsibilities include entering patient information into our software program. It involves accessing various electronic medical records systems. We are looking for a candidate who can type 50+ words per minute with accuracy and provide our customers with the highest quality product and customer service. Must always safeguard and protect the patient's right to privacy by ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to the patient's medical information and that all releases of information comply with requests, authorization, company policy, and HIPAA regulations.

Essential Functions:

  • Accurately entering patient information into our software program
  • Accessing various electronic medical records systems
  • Providing a high level of customer service

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a medical records office environment is helpful but not required; training will be provided.
  • Computer literacy, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to type 50+ words per minute
  • Focused on high-quality work
  • Self-motivated and reliable
  • Team player with excellent organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs of materials
  • Manual dexterity for entering information via computer keyboard
  • Good eyesight to read documents and view computer screens
  • Sufficient speaking and hearing abilities for effective communication

Information Governance Accountabilities:

  • Understanding of the organization’s information governance program and role-specific responsibilities
  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, and processes affecting data integrity and organizational goals
  • Willingness to discuss questions and suggest improvements for processes and work standards
  • Participation in required training for compliance and role-specific tasks

HIPAA/Compliance:

  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient, employee, and volunteer information
  • Ensure compliance with all security and integrity regulations
  • Report unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful activities
  • Maintain current HIPAA certification annually
