Job summary

Amazon's OTS Data ANCHOR team seeks a senior data engineer and leader to build analytics powering Operations Technology. You will shape data infrastructure supporting OpsTech IT, delivering scalable data solutions that influence how Amazon fulfills millions of orders.

You will own delivery for ETL pipelines, establish data governance, and lead a team to adopt GenAI for automated reporting, diagnostics, and prescriptive analytics. Join a fast-paced environment focused on innovation and impact.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of processing data with massively parallel technology (Redshift, Hive, Spark, or Hadoop-based big data solution).
  • 4+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics (ETL/ELT).
  • 5+ years of data engineering experience.
  • Experience leading and influencing the data or BI strategy of your team or organization.
  • Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of robust, scalable data solutions supporting OTS data infrastructure.
  • Leadership in data governance and quality standards.
  • Implementation of GenAI solutions for automated reporting, diagnostic, predictive & prescriptive analytics.

Join the OTS Data ANCHOR team to build strategic analytics powering Amazon's Operations Technology ecosystem. Our team provides critical data infrastructure support for OpsTech IT, supporting Amazon's global customer commitment. You'll work at the intersection of large-scale data processing and real-world operational impact, creating intelligence that directly influences how Amazon fulfills millions of orders.

Key job responsibilities

Basic Qualifications
  • 4+ years of processing data with a massively parallel technology (such as Redshift, Teradata, Netezza, Spark or Hadoop based big data solution) experience
  • 4+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics (using ETL/ELT processes) experience
  • 5+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience leading and influencing the data or BI strategy of your team or organization
  • Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
  • Experience with AWS Tools and Technologies (Redshift, S3, EC2)
  • Master's degree
  • Experience working with Data & AI related technologies, including, but not limited to, AI/ML, GenAI, Analytics, Database, and/or Storage
  • Bachelor's degree, or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, IT or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
