• Proficiency in SQL and ability to analyze large datasets.
• Strong understanding of data governance principles and schema management.
• Ability to translate requirements into clear specifications and scalable solutions.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives using agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate with business and technical stakeholders.
• Preferred: data engineering, DB engineering, or BI experience.
• Preferred: cloud ETL tools and large data sets in the cloud.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in CS and 3 years in software engineering.
• Preferred: knowledge of WCAG standards and digital accessibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Schema and Specification Management team within Walmart’s central Catalog organization.
• Oversee design, development, and delivery of product specifications aligned with business needs.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Manage taxonomy and specification data across systems and markets.
• Establish governance standards for quality, consistency, and data use.
• Drive best practices for schema design, validation, testing, and release management.
• Identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve catalog quality.
