Job summary

Red Ventures is seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead a small team building a modern data platform powering our home services business. You’ll translate business goals into executable plans, coach engineers, and push the team toward an AI-forward data stack with real-time and batch processing capabilities.

You’ll engage stakeholders, uphold data governance, and drive reliability and scale while exploring AI-enabled tooling and innovative data solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years managing a data engineering team with 5+ years hands-on data engineering experience.
• 4+ years of Databricks experience including Unity Catalog and Delta Lake.
• 4+ years of cloud experience (AWS preferred; Azure/GCP welcome).
• Strong Python and PySpark coding in distributed contexts.
• Deep data governance, including lineage, access control, and data quality.
• Experience with GitHub and CI/CD in collaborative environments.
• Excellent communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Fluency in AI-enabled data engineering and AI-forward tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 2-4 Data Engineers to design and build data pipelines to a target data warehouse.
• Coach performance reviews, provide actionable feedback, and invest in career growth.
• Own end-to-end data platform solutions from ingestion to monitoring and outgestion.
• Translate business strategy into a forward-looking technical roadmap and maintain governance standards.
• Drive reliability, scalability, cost optimization, and proactive monitoring practices.
• Lead proofs-of-concept to test and improve data processes and approaches.
• Champion AI integration into the data stack and AI-assisted pipeline development.
• Engage stakeholders early to surface value and align data work with business needs.
